From the beginning, CARE & FAIR mainly acted in the North of India, in the rural areas of the Carpet Belt in Uttar Pradesh. Here hardly any government schools existed and if they were available, the carpet weavers could not afford to send their children for education, because of the school fees.

Today we are operating 12 Schools and 6 Health Care Centres as well as 2 Adult Education Projects and 1 Students Health Care Program for the benefit of the families, working in carpet manufacturing.
